One of Brighton's most popular cinema venues will be closed for nearly a month due to ongoing building repairs.
Due to ongoing building repairs, Odeon Brighton will be closed for nearly a month until November 15th. This means cinemagoers in the Brighton and Hove area will have to look elsewhere to get their cinemagoing fix for almost a month instead of at the venue belonging to the largest cinema chain in the United Kingdom.
Bookings that had already been made for screenings at this cinema within this period were cancelled, with this email sent out by the multiplex:
"Dear Guest,
I am contacting you about your booking to see a performance with us here at ODEON Brighton. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control we have had to cancel this showing. Your booking has already been processed for refund and will be refunded to your payment card within 5-7 business days.
Please rebook for an alternative performance time or ODEON Cinema at your convenience. Please continue to check the website for further updates on cinema opening times and upcoming releases.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."

The eight-screen cinema's closure, which originally opened as a three-screen cinema in 1973, will mean that anyone looking to see recently released films such as Transformers One and The Wild Robot or upcoming films such as Venom: The Last Dance and Paddington In Peru will instead be tempted to look at the alternative cinemas offered in the area, such as the Duke of York's Picturehouse and Dukes at Komedia Picturehouse to see these films on the big screen.
